I recently put in a partition for Windows on my tower, which had previously run nothing but Ubuntu. This was to avoid the hassles of continually running WINE and some driver issues I had been experiencing between Ubuntu and the tablet I use.
Well, I figured that if my Windows account would see only light use, I might as well get her nice and organized while I'm at it. So I took a screenshot of my icon positions and doodled a little around them to help divide them into categories. The green ones are data files, links to the network, and so on. The red ones are old installer files and stuff I didn't ever bother to delete. The blue ones are commonly used icons, organized in most-used to least-used from left to right.
Yeah. I'm a geek. But at least I'm a well organized geek!
Haha, well I'm not too worried about extra icons - all my serious work is done in Ubuntu, so there isn't much else I'll be bringing onto Windows but Photoshop and perhaps a crack of Macromedia if I can find it.
And it's ironic - I actually have Age of Empires 2 and the expansion! I'm trying to kick my video game habit, though, so I've held off on installing it.
Glad to hear you like the setup - it's fun playing with a canvas as large as a desktop. I'm rather fond of the 'black hole' that the recycle bin lives in.
